New show hopes to celebrate cuisine and culture of east Bristol high street
A new show hopes to celebrate the cuisine and culture of an east Bristol high street.
Around the World in BS5 will take its audience on a promenade experience of Stapleton Road, exploring cuisines, cultures and stories of communities from across the world that have made the area their home.
Audiences can expect everything from traditional instruments and contemporary performance to singing and vogueing.

Visitors are being invited to come with “an empty belly, an open heart (and a pair of comfy shoes”, with visitors set to dance in hair salons, and experience “encounters among fresh cut flowers”.
The interactive theatre piece will run every Sunday in June and is produced by Bristol-based creative organisation, Compass Presents.
Known for their expanded cinema shows, the production company also translates stories of their community through interactive encounters as residents and visitors of BS5.
Delivered as part of the City Centre and High Streets Recovery and Renewal programme, and the Love our High Streets project, organisers hope the show will help to promote local businesses and encourage more footfall in the area.
