Preview: IBT15 – Nightwalks with Teenagers

By Lou Trimby  Thursday Jan 29, 2015

Acclaimed Canadian theatre company Mammalian Diving Reflex have been working alongside teenagers from Bristol’s Knowle West to create this absorbing, intimate performative event.

The teenagers will share their favourite parts of their area and their city with the audience. The shared experience of this walk is designed to bring together potentially disparate social groups and lead to a greater understanding of each other.

This psychogeographical piece is partly inspired by the Situationist concept of the dérive – an unplanned journey through an urban landscape with the aim of encountering a completely new, authentic experience.

Founded in 1993, Mammalian Diving Reflex are renowned for creating engaging, exciting and vibrant socially engaged work which can take any theatrical form – in almost any environment.

NB Outdoor walking performance. Wear weather-proof clothing and appropriate footwear. Ticket price includes return bus from Arnolfini.

Nightwalks with Teenagers Friday, February 13 to Sunday, February 15: Knowle West (meet Arnolfini). For more info and to book tickets, visit ibt15.co.uk/nightwalks-with-teenagers
