Storytelling giants The Crick Crack Club go from strength to strength
With sell-out events at The Cube in September and October already assured, the Crick Crack Club are continuing to build an audience of live storytelling fans in Bristol.
For November, they are hosting three performance storytellers from Finland, Norway and Belgium – otherwise known as 3Troubadours: Markus Luukkonen (the wanderer), Torgrim Mellum Stene (the tower), and Tom Van Outryve (the fool).
The trio will be presenting their comedic ancestral exploration Roots – 3 Men, 3 Bloodlines, 3 Myths at The Cube on November 3.

A seeker sacrifices his life for knowledge.
A giant guards lost words in his sleep.
And the Fisher King waits patiently for the one who’ll ask the question that will heal him.
Each and every one of our ancestors has left their trace in us. To understand who we are and where we are going, we need to understand where we’ve come from: to dive into the lake, to climb the tree, to enter the cave, to look for the roots of everything.

In December, Martin Shaw will be joining the Crick Crack Club to present his retelling of the middle English classic, Gawain and the Green Knight to the audience.
For those regulars inspired to get behind the mic, Crick Crack founder Ben Haggarty will be hosting a two-day introductory storytelling workshop on November 11-12, at The Gasworks Studio.
Aimed at adults with an interest in traditional narrative (fairytale, folktale, myth and epic), the weekend will include a broad mix of exercises, talks and discussion to ground participants in the art of contemporary performance storytelling.
