The Lion King to return to Bristol Hippodrome
The second UK and Ireland tour of the award-winning stage version of The Lion King will open in Bristol in September 2019, Disney announced on Monday.
The tour – with tickets to dates at the Bristol Hippodrome going on sale in February – will coincide with the musical celebrating 20 years at London’s Lyceum Theatre.
Since opening in 1999, more than 15 million theatregoers have seen the production, which remains the West End’s best-selling stage show and the sixth longest-running West End musical of all time.
is needed now More than ever
A cast of more than 50 actors, singers and dancers last brought the famous story to life at the Hippodrome in the first UK tour in 2012.
A new film version of The Lion King starring Beyonce as Nala and Donald Glover as Simba, is due for release later this year.
