Theatrical collaboration joins biomedical researchers with female survivors of domestic abuse
Written and performed by two women with direct experience of domestic violence, Hard Evidence tells the story of friendship, mutual support and overcoming abuse, in its many forms.
The play demonstrates the empowering effect of public involvement in research, and has been developed with the support of partners acta Community Theatre, NIHR Bristol Biomedical Research Centre, COMforT Study, and People in Health West of England.
The narrative follows the character of Jan, whose confidence is buoyed by her involvement in a research advisory group on domestic violence, focusing on the transformative power of mindfulness for trauma.
