The Lion King returns to the Hippodrome this autumn
Queues formed outside the box office to the Bristol Hippodrome on Wednesday morning as tickets for The Lion King went on sale.
The award-winning musical returns to the city from September 7 to November 23, seven years after its first run at the St Augustine’s Parade Theatre.
Since its Broadway premiere in 1997, 25 global productions have been seen by more than 95 million people, with six productions worldwide running for 15 or more years.

Bristol Hippodrome theatre director Jenny Hutchinson said: “We’re absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Disney’s The Lion King back to the Bristol Hippodrome after such a successful run in 2012.
“This amazing production has something to offer for everyone and we’re really looking forward to welcoming a wide range of audiences from across Bristol and beyond when this special show opens.”
The 2019 tour coincides with The Lion King celebrating 20 years at London’s Lyceum Theatre, with a new feature film due for release later this year.
