Worms theatre sponsors young creatives from Felix Road Adventure Playground
Led by Teddy Monroe, Bristol-based Worms Theatre Company is a collective that aims to bridge theatre with activism, offering “resistance in a time of crisis”.
As such, they partner all their works with political or charitable causes, and their sister project Creative Space for Youth runs weekly art and theatre sessions for young people at Felix Road Adventure Playground.
To date, Worms have produced three original plays, most recently 2023’s The Last Vagabonds, which raised £1500 for environmental charity PRALER.

Their new show The Banality of Evil is coming to The Cube on January 22 for a three night run. Described as a piece exploring “how the well-balanced individual is insane”, the production unfolds through a collection of comic, often absurdist sketches.
Proceeds from the play will be used to sponsor 15 young people from Felix Road to attend a professional play, with the goal of inspiring and facilitating them to create and showcase their own work at a later date.
A workshop is also being planned around The Banality of Evil, harnessing techniques from the Theatre of the Oppressed, which Monroe describes as “an interactive theatrical practice that uses improvisation and games to challenge societal norms, aiming to inspire dialogue and radical change”.
