Your chance to perform on the Bristol Old Vic stage
The stage is yours: Bristol Old Vic is on the hunt for creative Bristolians to perform on its main stage in May.
Once again, Bristol Old Vic is inviting Bristol and West Country talent to share its creativity on the main stage in a showcase like no other. Born out of the theatre’s 250th anniversary celebrations in 2016, Open Stage carries its legacy into 2019, celebrating Bristol’s extraordinary community and its creative heart.
The event will take place on the Bank Holiday Monday, May 27, in the week of the theatre’s 253rd birthday. Applications are open to all, whether it’s your first time stepping foot in a theatre or you’re a seasoned professional, and previous years have seen over 300 people take to the stage. Anyone looking to raise the roof on Bristol Old Vic is very welcome – from choirs to circus performers, jazz musicians to spoken word artists, Bollywood dancers to mimes: the stage is yours.

Hattie De Santis, engagement producer at Bristol Old Vic, explains: “Open Stage is one of Bristol Old Vic’s treasures. The building buzzes with creativity, excitement and anticipation as our brilliant participants share their stories on our beautiful stage. Whether you’ve been on stage before, or it’s your first time treading the boards – everyone is welcome. We cannot wait to see what the city will bring for 2019.”
The deadline for applications for Open Stage 2019 is Monday, April 1. Applicants should make note of any technical requirements they may have and be able to describe what they’d like to share in 100 words. The application form is available via the link below.
Bristol Open Stage performances will take place throughout the entire day and are free for everyone to watch! Tickets will be available on a first come, first served basis.
