‘Yule Be Merry’: fun and festive family theatre from Brave Bold Drama
The award-winning and Bristol-based Brave Bold Drama are a not-for-profit theatre and community arts company, proudly working class and LGBTQI+ led.
As well as creating well-rounded family theatre, they make sensory story kits for care home residents and their carers.
They also produce free ‘sound walks’ featuring community members; recent examples include Extraordinary Streets in Withywood and Stockwood, Saxons to the Seventies in Manor Woods Valley, Bishopsworth, and Wild Words in Southmead.

In the run-up to Christmas, they are bringing their comic family show Yule Be Merry to St Werburgh’s City Farm, performing twice daily on December 21-24.
Gill Simmons (artistic director) and Paul Lawless (creative producer) are Holly and Noel, the event planners tasked with producing a ’12 Days of Christmas’-themed extravaganza from their boss.

Chaos ensues, fuelled by “insurmountable technical glitches, escaped poultry and unavoidably delayed ballet dancers” but the organisers are determined to find a way through.
The show takes place outdoors but under cover, and audiences are advised to wrap up appropriately for the weather.
