Fantastic music festivals
Music is at the very heart of Bristol. With its focus on individuality and creativity, Bristol has paved the way for greater experimentation in the music industry, out of which renowned artists such as Krust and DJ Clipz have grown.
It is only fitting that paying tribute to the city’s rich history and eclectic music scene should be done in the best way Bristol knows how – festivals. There are many to choose from too, all of them offering something new and completely eccentric in line with the lively spirit of Bristol.
TOKYO WORLD FESTIVAL – Sep 18 & 19, Eastville Park
One of Bristol’s most famous music festivals, Tokyo World is a drum’n’bass-centric event, which sees over 25,000 music fans attending each year. However, Tokyo World has more to offer than just drum’n’bass sounds, with visitors enjoying genres from grime through to house and electronica, and artist names as big as Rudimental and Sigma.

LAKOTA’S SUMMER OF LOVE FESTIVAL – 2022 date TBC
Lakota’s Summer of Love Festival is an event new to Bristol and Lakota’s very first festival. Considering the popularity of Lakota – one of Bristol’s most famous drum’n’bass clubs and hub for student nightlife – it is one to keep on your radar.
Lovers of all music genres are welcome, as the festival boasts multiple stages across the two days, hosting artists from House, Techno and Disco, to Garage, Jungle and Funk. Although the festival first took place in July, the event boasted enough colour, laser lights and infamous tunes by D&B headliner Wilkinson, to immediately establish itself as an event not to be missed in the future for Bristol and UK-wide students alike.
