Farmfest announce more acts for 2017

By Bristol24/7  Thursday Mar 16, 2017

The team behind Farmfest have revealed that world-class acts, including Nightmares on Wax and London Astrobeat Orchestra, will be appearing this year at one of the UK’s most unique and inclusive small festivals.

Other acts that have just been announced include Oliver Wilde, 47Soul, Beans on Toast, Pinch and an all-female DJ takeover from Rhythm Sisters.

They join This is the Kit, Squarepusher’s Shobaleader One, Melt Yourself Down, BC Camplight and Dele Sosimi for a weekend of fun at the Somerset festival, which runs from July 28-29.

For the past 12 years, Farmfest have showcased some of the most exciting established and emerging left-of-field live acts and DJs.

George Evelyn, AKA Nightmares on Wax, is back headlining the festival for a second time. Going strong making music since 1991, his 2016 album Ground Floor was very well received, skilfully mixing soulful grooves with dub beats and electronic infusions.

London Astrobeat Orchestra are a unique collaboration of West African musicians, who will be performing their own refreshing and re-energised take on Talking Heads’ timeless albums Remain in Light and Speaking in Tongues.

The musicians are the cherry on top of a full line-up of comedy, theatrics and other creative crafts, offering plenty of variety. New for 2017, there will also be a huge variety of food stalls, to keep everyone well-fed and happy over the weekend.

The festival raise more £5,000 for their chosen charities each year, and work to keep their carbon footprint and ticket prices down, making it a green choice for seasoned festival goers.

Farmfest 2017 takes place at Gilcombe Farm in Bruton, Somerset from July 28-29. For tickets and more information, visit www.farmfestival.co.uk
