Preview: Love Saves the Day 2018

By Max Langer  Tuesday May 15, 2018

Love Saves the Day (LSTD) returns to Eastville Park for another outing across May 26-27, bringing together artists from Bristol and across the world.

Starting just seven years ago, LSTD has quickly grown in to a major event in the city’s calendar. “We thought we would maybe do it for a few years until we were forced to get real jobs. How wrong we were!” says event organiser Tom Paine.

Love Saves The Day is now in its seventh year

Stretching over two days in late May, the festival aims to bring together an eclectic mix of genres. This year they’re putting on their biggest ever line-up, with Fatboy Slim and Sampha headlining the main stage, and other huge names including Loyle Carner, Andy C and Horse Meat Disco filling out the line-up across seven stages.

Keen to keep things fresh, this year there will be five brand new elaborate stage designs, as well as new areas of the park to explore. “We want people to feel like they have stepped into a proper festival in the middle of a city,” Tom says.

The line-up for this year’s festival is the biggest yet

Alongside the music, Tom and co have designed an elaborate programme of live entertainment that showcases Bristol’s creativity. There will also be food and drink from some of the city’s favourite stall-holders. And once the sun sets over Eastville, Love Saves the Night continues at Motion with homegrown talent from Saffron Records and Sisterworks.

“It really is the perfect date for the show and to start the summer with a huge party in Bristol that attracts people from all over the world,” Tom says. “Amazing music, amazing people, amazing stages and set designs. An amazing space where people can really dance to their hearts content – and love, lots and lots of love.”
