Preview: Bristol Proms 2014
Bach Night this evening at the Bristol Proms will open the second annual installment of a festival presented by Bristol Old Vic that brings classical music to a new audience and mixes it with new technology.
Day one of the Bristol Proms 2014 will see everything from a performance of Bach completely in the dark to Goldfrapp’s Will Gregory and his Moog Ensemble exploring Bach’s 3rd Brandenburg Concerto, Christmas Oratorio and a series of other pieces on synthesisers.

Returning from last year’s Bristol Proms, violinist Daniel Hope will weave a spoken and musical journey through the Baroque period, leading up to 1766, the year the Theatre Royal was built
International virtuoso and internet pioneer, pianist Valentina Lisitsa will perform songs by Schubert as arranged by Liszt together with the music of Michael Nyman
