Preview: Bristol Technology Festival 2019

The first Bristol Technology Festival is coming to the city from the November 2 to 10 2019, in collaboration with established events such as Bristol Technology Showcase, Technotopia and Bristech.

The festival has eight founding partners; the Engine Shed, Hargreaves Lansdown, TechSPARK, Bristech, Bristol Technology Showcase, Silicon Gorge, SW founders, SETsquared Bristol, and is a chance to learn more about the impact of technology on the modern world.

There will be eight events, starting on Tuesday, November 5, including talks, breakfasts and showcases.

A discussion on New World Farming with Farm 491 will start the festival on November 5. I’ll Be Back South West will hold their monthly gathering on the same day and is a chance to understand the impact of artificial intelligence and machine learning on advertising and marketing.

November 6 is a day of FinTech, with an industry breakfast event and Bristol TechFin 2019, an all-day event exploring how new technologies in money services can address financial exclusion.

Business innovation & Strategic Digital to Compete & Thrive on November 7 is a seminar to help small business and entrepreneurs find out more about business innovation, creating a future proof business in a time of rapid technological change.

Watershed will host Bristech Conference 2019 on the same day for industry developers and technical professionals with speakers, workshops and panel sessions.

The penultimate event , Bristol Tech Showcase, will take place Aerospace Bristol on November 8. It will focus on emerging technologies and how they will affect businesses, as well as wider society.

The event finishes with Bristol Tech Fair on November 9, and is a one-day celebration of technology, engineering and science to bring everyone together.

“Bristol is a hub for some of the most exciting tech businesses and projects currently happening in Europe,” says Nick Sturge, director of the Engine Shed. With a lineup as interesting and diverse as the first Bristol Technology Festival, Bristol is the place to be to know about the newest technology.
