Preview: Valley Fest 2019
The so-named the best-tasting music festival in the South West, Valley Fest, has announced its full lineup for 2019. The music and food festival, which takes place between August 2 to 4 overlooking Chew Valley Lake, boasts some of the biggest names across genres and the biggest treats from ciders to sausages.
The Valley will be alight with live sets from across the globe, from the intense afrobeats and latin jazz of Nubiyan Twist to the quirky, robotic styles of Stealing Sheep, based out of Liverpool. Bringing some much-anticipated rave vibes is Henge – renowned for their pumping live performances and dizzying guitar solos on stage.

Building up to a trio of headliners, The Magic Numbers will bring their beefy electric guitars to the Valley; a perfect 70’s-themed accompaniment to handfuls of cured meats, cheddars and pints from local vendors. Don’t expend all your energy before the Saturday headliners Razorlight, because their brand of high energy rock requires fully-flexed dancing feet.

And that was just the starters. Delicious main courses will be served across the festival, with a DJ set from the legendary Leftfield, to groundbreaking beats from the selector himself Norman Jay MBE. Mixing up a spicy concoction of tunes will be second headliners Basement Jaxx, who will take to the decks to do what they do best.

As the bread and cheese hangover kicks in, Valley Fest’s third headliner Tom Odell will jump in to reinvigorate the mind and soul. Alongside singer-songwriter fellow Tom Speight, Ghanaian minimalists Vula Viel and reggae royalty The Nextmen – there’s no genre left unturned this year.
