All you need to know about St Paul’s Carnival 2019

By Bristol24/7  Friday Jul 5, 2019

The 2019 St Paul’s Carnival takes place on Saturday, July 6 from midday to 10pm.

The procession will pass through the area’s streets from midday to 4pm, with judging taking place on the junction of City Road and Ashley Road midway through the procession as floats and troupes pass the judging area.

As usual, there will be a huge variety of street food stalls, stages and sound systems. For children, there will be dedicated family fun zones in St Paul’s Park and St Agnes Park.

Carnival goers are advised not to bring rucksacks or any glass to the event.

First aid points will be in place at the Malcolm X Centre, Orange Street and Brigstocke Road. St Paul’s Community Sports Academy will act as a temporary hospital.

It is not advised to drive to Carnival due to road closures and limited access around the Carnival area by car. The nearest train station to St Paul’s Carnival is Temple Meads, with the nearest allocated disabled car parking at Cabot Circus.

All live stages and the procession judging point will have designated viewing areas for wheelchair users.

There will be an official programme available on the day, with donations for the programme going towards future Carnival events.

Organisers ask Carnival goers to please recycle their rubbish at recycling points and do not drop litter in the streets.

There are two official after parties: the Old School After Party at Malcolm X Centre and the St Paul’s Carnival After Party at Lakota.
