Bristol Pride announces full lineup

By Alison Maney  Thursday May 19, 2016

Bristol Pride, the city’s annual music and arts festival celebrating the LGBT+ culture and community, has announced its full lineup. The festival runs from July 1-10 with the festival’s main day on Saturday, July 9.

Over 50 acts from Bristol and around the world will grace the festival’s three stages.

Headlining the main stage are Ivor Novello and World Music Award winner Lisa Stansfield. The main stage will also feature Wildflowers (known as the support band for Robert Plant), all-female Duran Duran cover band Joanne Joanne, Rozalla, Lucy Spraggan, Tom Rickels of The Voice, A*M*E and Little Boots.

“Bristol Pride has grown from strength to strength,” says Bristol Pride organiser Daryn Carter. “We’re one of the biggest Prides in the UK and I am proud to be delivering amazing acts, performers and events throughout Pride Week.”

Now in its seventh year, the festival is a donation-entry event with local food, market areas, bars, a community area, cabaret and dance performance stages and a family area with games, science exploration and kite making. Last year, over 31,000 individuals attended Bristol Pride.

With the purchase of a £5 wristband, visitors can receive discounts for food, drink, the At-Bristol science museum and more. Joint evening tickets, on sale for £15, are also available and grant their owners access to three separate after parties at the O2 Academy, Queenshilling and Hush at Basement 45, which will feature performances and DJ sets from the likes of Bright Light Bright Light, Guilty Pleasures, Don’t Tell Your Mother and more.
