Bristol’s biggest ever wellbeing festival
Bristol’s biggest ever festival of wellbeing comes to locations across the city over the weekend of October 20 and 21.
Programmed across four themes – move, eat, connect and explore – one wristband gets you into over 200 events as part of Wild & Well which are aimed at anyone who wants to live in a happier, healthier, more connected way.
The festival will take place in venues around the Floating Harbour with a short shuttle bus ride connecting the harbourside to Ashton Court Estate where Wild & Well will take over the mansion and also host events in huge wood-fired yurts on the lawn.
is needed now More than ever
Expect wild adventures, studio classes, a yoga festival, cooking demos and workshops, panel talks, mental health events, woodland happenings, outdoor fitness and much more.
Wild & Well’s Move strand (at the M Shed, SS Great Britain and Watershed) promises to bring all the fun of a festival to a broad range of fitness events – from paddle boarding around the harbour to aerial yoga from the M Shed cranes; a spinning rave with headline DJs to a silent disco woodland workout; a Tai Chi tea party to drum’n’bass workouts.
The festival’s Connect strand at We The Curious comprises panel talks and workshops exploring a multitude of topics with experts from all walks of life. Panel talk topics include The Nature Cure: Nature Connection and Mental Health; Success, Failure and Following Your Passion and Evolving Medicine Beyond Prescriptions. Workshops include The Best Sex Ever!, Reclaiming Your Life and Understanding Anxiety and Depression.
With a focus on food that is good for body and soul, the festival’s Eat events will take place at Ashton Court. The Wild Kitchen and The Hearth (the festival’s fire cooking area) will offer a huge lineup of demos and workshops including hedgerow tipples, sourdough making, healing soups and broths, raw desserts, root to fruit eating, kombucha, fish on fire and tonics and teas. The programme also offers foraging walks, a ‘bread therapy’ area, a botanical cocktail bar and a traditional harvest wassail with The Cider Box.
Wild & Well’s Explore programme will help people to connect with nature and the outdoors through events and activities like Wild Caveman Cooking, archery, Survival Skills, The Art of Getting Lost, Awe, Wonder & Stargazing, Walking for Mind and Body and The Dummies Guide to Planning a Big Adventure.
There is also a dedicated programme of activities for families at Ashton Court including a ‘build-your-own’ adventure playground with The Woodland Tribe, a whole host of forest school activities including den building, fire craft and wild camp cooking, Junior Jungle Rave, a barefoot trail with Wild Place Project, Yogadoo, Relax Kids and The Imagination Potion.
