Downs Festival gets 2017 licence granted

By Rebecca Hodson  Thursday May 18, 2017

The Downs Festival, which will this year see Elbow headline on September 2, has had its license approved. The capacity for the event will stand at 29,999.

The festival’s main stage will also be graced by Seasick Steve, De La Soul, The Districts and Soul II Soul.

Tom Paine, co-founder of organisers Team Love, said: “We’ve now got the lineup in place, tickets are flying and the license has been granted. Now, we’re looking forward to a great event in one of Bristol’s best green spaces with the good folk of Bristol.”

The festival will be working in collaboration with First Bus to provide a shuttle bus on the day of the event to transport ticket holders from Temple Meads and the centre. No parking will be available in the immediate vicinity of the site.

The full lineup will be released later in the summer, including the music on the smaller stages, and a programme of talks that will address economic and environmental issues.

Tickets are priced at £45 plus a booking fee and are now available from Bristol Ticket shop or www.thedownsbristol.com.
