Emily Eavis recommends local festival for those who missed out on Glastonbury tickets
Glastonbury Festival returns on June 21 to 25 with a lineup that includes Arctic Monkeys, Guns N’ Roses and Elton John.
Despite the 19 per cent year-on-year rise in the ticket price and the lack of diversity with the headline acts, resale tickets sold out in just six minutes on Sunday.
In a tweet shared yesterday, Emily Eavis, the co-organiser of Glastonbury Festival, announced that festival-fans who didn’t manage to get Glastonbury resale tickets should support Shindig Festival as an alternative local festival.
is needed now More than ever
In her tweet, Emily said: “If you are looking for another lovely local festival, this one [Shindig Festival] comes recommended…”.
Shindig Festival has been a major part of the Somerset music scene for almost ten years.
Previously based in Bruton, the festival has since expanded and is now based at the Dillington Estate in Ilminster, with 12,500 party-goers in attendance and eight stages.
Taking place May 25 to 28, the festival will welcome dance-pop legends Sister Sledge alongside comedian Jonathon Pie, London post-punk band Warmduscher, reggae singer Dawn Penn and BBC Radio 6 Music’s Huey Morgan.
Tickets are still on sale and can be found at www.shindigfestival.co.uk
