Free Easter series from Bristol 2015 Lab

By Bristol24/7  Friday Mar 27, 2015

Bristol Lab 2015 introduces another free programme of events taking you right through Easter. This time, celebrating the second of the Green Capital’s five themes, Nature.

Located on Bristol’s Harbourside, the space trebles as an information point, workshop space and green shop and will, throughout the year, work through each of the Green Capital themes: transport, nature, food, resources and energy.

The events are all free to attend, with lots for children and families, and art workshops from members of the Drawn in Bristol Collective.

Easter weekend also sees the launch of Bristol 2015 Wild Encounters project – a series of 45 short films which have been specially selected and introduced by 15 well known wildlife presenters, including Steve Backshall, Chris Packham and Michaela Strachan.

For children, Avon Gorge & Downs Wildlife Project host a mask-making workshop inspired by the rare species of plants and wildlife found in the Gorge; and Captain Barnacles from BBC’s The Octonauts makes an appearance – along with a whole cast of crustaceans from Bristol Aquarium.

Other events include tips on growing fresh veg from SowHow, and a parade of live Easter chicks courtesy of Elm Tree Farm in Stapleton.
