New home for annual dance music festival
One of Bristol’s most popular festivals has been in Eastville Park since 2015 but organisers have confirmed 2020 will be their last year there.
Now a licensing application reveals that Love Saves the Day could move across the city to Ashton Court, where there is space for nearly 40,000 revellers; almost double the 23,000-capacity of Eastville Park.

Tom Paine, one of the festival directors, said: “We’re looking at all options for 2021 onwards, but who knows where the Love Saves the Day adventure will take us next.
“All our focus right now is on Eastville Park for 2020 and making sure that next year’s show is the best one yet.
The likes of Lily Allen, Stormzy, Fatboy Slim, Dizzee Rascal and Four Tet have played the festival since it began in Castle Park in 2011.
Writing online earlier this year, the organisers said: “After five triumphant years of Love Saves The Day in Eastville Park, the time has finally come for one last dance in our much-loved home.
“Since our inaugural event in Eastville back in 2015, Love Saves The Day has evolved across so many fronts, with 2019 culminating in spectacular fashion as our fastest selling event on record.”
The organisers have applied to hold festivals at Ashton Court during the late May bank holiday in 2021, 2022 and 2023.
