Noel Gallagher puts together special playlist in advance of Downs festival

By Bristol24/7  Thursday Jun 14, 2018

Noel Gallagher has put together a special playlist of some of his favourite music to warm up fans ahead of his headline appearance at this year’s The Downs festival.

Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds are performing on the Downs on September 1 alongside the likes of Paul Weller, Orbital and Nadine Shah.

Downs festival organiser Tom Paine said: “Noel’s put together a quality playlist here, covering not just multiple genres but spanning several decades as well. You’ve got Bowie, Bob Marley and Supertramp all the way up to Childish Gambino.

“Personally I love that DJ Shadow gets two tracks on the list. Hearing him played on John Peel’s show back in the 90s totally changed my musical outlook. I also love that there’s a bit of ‘Noel’s soul’ on there with the likes of Curtis Mayfield.

“Oasis were first and foremost a guitar band but this playlist shows where Noel’s songwriting influences really do come from far and wide.”
