Painted unicorns exhibited one last time as charity art trail ends
The public will have one last chance to see a “blessing” of painted unicorns and foals when they are showcased at a festival.
Unicornfest, which has raised money for Leukaemia Care and is part of Bristol’s 650th anniversary, has seen dozens of sculptures on display around the streets of the city over the summer.
To mark the end of the arts trail, Farewell Festival will take place at Propyard from September 23 to 24 and showcases all 60 unicorns and more than 40 foals.

Festival goers will get exclusive access to the final, 61st unicorn currently in design by an artist yet to be announced.
Zack Pemberton-Whiteley, chief executive of Leukaemia Care, said the summer arts trail has been “truly magical” with more than 150,000 visitors scanning the colourful sculptures.

“We’re incredibly proud to see people travelling from all over the world to come see all 60,” Pemberton-Whiteley said.
“The Farewell Festival will be the public’s last chance to see the complete set of unicorns who will all be retouched by their artists ready for the occasion, ahead of heading to the auction which will raise final vital funds for Leukaemia Care.
“It’s also an excellent chance for people who are collecting the unicorns on our app to scan any they have missed; coming along is the only way you can scan our secret 61st unicorn!”
Farewell Festival, running from 9am until 8pm, will provide a chance to spend time with the unicorns up-close and take photos, with a DJ, a bar and street food options available.
Unicornfest ends on September 3.
