Stranglers to headline Grillstock in Bristol

By Bristol24/7  Friday Mar 4, 2016

The Stranglers will play Grillstock in Bristol this summer as the festival announced it was doubling the number of barbecue teams.

The weekend of “meat, music and mayhem” is now a fixture in the Bristol festival calendar, and will return to Lloyds Amphitheatre on July 2 and 3 this year.

The oranisers announced on social media on Friday morning that The Stranglers would be closing the festival on the Sunday.

Early-bird day tickets are already on sale for £18. The rest of the festival line-up is due to be released in the coming weeks.

Ben Merrington, festival co-founder, added: “We’ve returned to our roots with just one Grillstock this year, so it’s going to be a massive hoedown in Bristol.

“We’ve increased the number of teams competing in our King of the Grill competition which means more smoky goodness, more amazing tasters for the crowds and the biggest BBQ competition our Bristol Festival has ever seen. The Stranglers are legends and will be a brilliant way to spend Sunday afternoon at the festival.”
