The Rooms Festival begins on Silver Street

By Daisay Johnson  Wednesday Nov 4, 2015

A series of interactive installations which include 53 inventions designed to change the world are part of a unique weekend-long event in Silver Street

Visitors can get lost in a bio-activated maze, contemplate the future of death and re-imagine a digital future at The Rooms festival.

The festival, held in the The Station, Magistrates Courts and Police Station between November 5-7, also includes a programme of free talks, film screenings, workshops and more.

The Rooms has been created by REACT, a collaboration between Universities in the South West & Wales, funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council.

Katherine Jewkes, creative producer for The Rooms, said: REACT are thrilled to be able to open the doors to The Rooms and share with the public some of the amazing talent from the South West region and beyond.

“Across the festival we will be showcasing 53 products and experiences that aim to change the way we imagine our world, alongside the brilliant makers and thinkers who brought these ideas to life.”
