Upfest 2017 dates confirmed

By Bristol24/7  Thursday Nov 3, 2016

Organisers of Upfest are promising that next year’s festival will be the biggest Bristol has yet seen, with the festival area due to be extended to accommodate more artists than ever before.

Europe’s largest street art and graffiti festival will be gracing the streets of Bristol for its ninth year in 2017.

From July 29-31, Bedminster and Southville will once again come alive with colour as Upfest takes over – with next year’s festival also promising to include lots of activities for kids, plus art workshops, live music and affordable art sales.

This year saw an impressive 300 artists from more than 40 countries, painting super-sized street murals, shop front shutters and boards.

2017 promises to be just as jam-packed, with famous artists gathering yet again to create some amazing work.

The festival will also be supporting the National Association for the Children of Alcoholics (NACOA), a charity for which the festival has helped raise over £40,000 to date.

Upfest founder Stephen Hayles said: “The next festival is expected to be the biggest we’ve seen yet, extending the festival area to accommodate even more artists.

“The Upfest team are proud of the boost the festival gives to local traders and the wider impact it has across Bristol, and of the support we receive from the street art community, who paint for the crowds and create a brilliant legacy each year.”

Registration for artists will open in February. For more information, visit www.upfest.co.uk
