Valley Fest announce new headliner

By Lowie Trevena  Friday Mar 19, 2021

Valley Fest has announced a change in headliner for 2021’s festival.

Travis and Deacon Blue will still headline, but Goldfrapp will no longer be performing.

The festival, which will take place from July 30 – August 1 near Chew Valley Lake, has instead announced Sophie Ellis-Bextor as a new headliner.

While organiser “hope to see them (Goldfrapp) back another year”, they are “beyond excited” to announce Ellis-Bextor as headliner.

“Sophie Ellis-Bextor’s Kitchen Discos were a big hit in our house,” says founder Luke Hasell. “Disco divas, get your glamorous glad rags ready for a very special Sunday night!”

The Blockheads, The Cuban Brothers and Oh My God! It’s The Church will also perform at the festival, which is now in its seventh year.

Toploader, best known for Dancing In The Moonlight, blues singer Elles Bailey, songstress Katey Brooks and Bristol favourites Doreen Doreen are among the host of acts billed for the event.

A number of feasts, street food, chef demonstrations and panel discussions have also be announced.

Bristol chef Josh Eggleton will be cooking, Great British Bake Off star Briony May Williams will host a cooking demonstration and head chef of Root, Rob Howell will be on site

“Expect hedge-to-hedge Somerset sparkle and plenty of nonsense with a spectacular soundtrack,” say Valley Fest organisers. “This is West Country wildness at its best.”
