Valley Fest announces first acts
Returning for 2017, Valley Fest has announced the first acts for this year’s show-down by Chew Valley Lake,
Running from August 4-6, this community festival will gather together Bristol-based favorites alongside artists from far and wide. Expect to see everything from experimental Japanese performance art by ICHI, Bristol’s Goan Dogs, psychedelic sounds from The Fantasy Orchestra, Dub Mafia’s Eva Lazarus, and festival-scene regulars Smerins Anti-Social Club.

With more artists still to be announced, the line-up promises heart-thumping music from acts such as Glasgow trio The Langan Band, No Go Stop, experimental African-electronic ensemble Afroquoi, Manu Delago and Peter Josef, and Bristol-based 6 music favorite, This Is The Kit (Kate Sables).
As well as music, the festival organisers have also curated a full programme for the weekend. Friday will treat festival-goers to legendary London night White Wedding, followed by a good old foot-stomping hoedown on Saturday night, with Bristol barn-stormers Fitty Gomash leading festivities. Sunday will finish the party off in style with a carnival procession led by Bristol percussion group Afron Sistema.

The festival is also planning to become the first in the UK to be 100% organic, with all their food stalls serving organically grown food.
Luke Hasell, who runs Valley Fest on his farm, said: “We pride ourselves on programming a wide variety of acts for people to experience something new – this is all part of creating the magic bubble that is Valley Fest. Over the course of one weekend you can leave the outside world, enjoy great music, the tastiest food and all with an incredible view of the lake and surrounding countryside”.
Weekend tickets, which include camping, are £110 for adults, £40 for teenagers (aged 13-17), and £20 for children (aged 6-12). Kids aged five and under go free.
