Wild & Well festival reveal eclectic programme of events at Ashton Court

By Bristol24/7  Monday Sep 10, 2018

A new festival coming to locations across Bristol in October has unveiled an ambitious programme of events to take place on Ashton Court Estate.

Wild & Well over the weekend of October 20 and 21 is programmed across four themes: Move, Connect, Eat and Explore.

The Move and Connect events will take place in venues around the harbourside; while the festival’s Eat and Explore events are happening at Ashton Court in big yurts on the lawn in front of the mansion, in the mansion itself and in the woodland.

A Wild Kitchen will offer demos and workshops including root to fruit eating, smoking and curing, sourdough making, kefir, medicinal mushrooms, raw deserts, and more.

Next door to the Wild Kitchen, The Hearth is Wild & Well’s fire cooking area hosted by Sam Evans and Shauna Guinn from Hang Fire Smoke House on Saturday, and by River Cottage’s Stephen Lamb on Sunday.

Love Food Festival will be popping up in Ashton Court Mansion with a selection of the South West’s street food superstars and local producers.

At Base Camp – the centre for Wild & Well’s Explore programme – festivalgoers can choose from events like planning a big adventure, stargazing, and walking for mind and body.

This will also be the jumping off point for activities like mountain biking and the festival’s silent disco woodland workouts.

Wild & Well has teamed up with 7th Rise – the UK’s leading wild experience provider – to host an area at Ashton Court with events including archery, survival skills, wild caveman cooking and foraging.

And connecting the festivals four themes, a 90-minute guided walk from the harbourside to Ashton Court will explore water’s role in connecting, moving, feeding and inspiring us.

There will also be a shuttle bus connecting the harbourside and Ashton Court throughout the festival.

Wild & Well tickets are now available from £30 for day tickets and £50 for weekend tickets. Family tickets are priced at £20 for adults, £10 for children aged five to 14 with under-fives going free.

Wild & Well takes place on October 20 and 21 2018. For tickets and more information, visit www.wildandwell.org
