Yogscast reveal huge ‘weekend adventure’ in their home city of Bristol
The success of a bunch of friends who originally set out making YouTube videos of themselves playing the computer game World of Warcraft from their backroom can be measured best in big numbers. Really big numbers.
Tens of millions of YouTube subscribers, billions of views and dozens of channels have seen The Yogscast – now run from offices in Queen Square – move into animations, music videos, tabletop games and live action pieces involving the occasional tank.
Even a sculpture in 2018’s Gromit Unleashed trail was designed to look like Yogscast founder Simon Honeydew.
is needed now More than ever
So it’s big news indeed when Yogscast announce that they will be hosting a full weekend of live shows, panels, community events and games in their home city of Bristol.
YogCon, taking place at Motion on August 3 and 4, promises more than 40 hours of livestreams and 12 hours of signings from the Yogcast family among its two days of activities.
“We’re keeping YogCon cosy, with only 800 tickets on sale,” the official website says. “This way, we can build exactly the right family vibe, and ensure that everyone gets time to meet their favourite content creators.
“Not that YogCon is a small event. With three stages to choose from, LOADS of content creators on site and 40+ hours of content, it will be a brimming weekend with something to tickle everyone’s fancy, even your Nan!”
There will be Yogs-themed food stands, cosplay, a beanbag-filled chillout zone, and evening activities including a pub quiz and live music.
But not all of their fans across the world are happy about the event taking place in Bristol:
