Mr Tea’s Teas Cafe
Sipping loose leaf tea yards away from one of the most bustling areas of Bristol, we could have been a world away. It was a dark and cold early evening outside but these teas were our passport to warmer climes.
Vegan cakes were on the windowsill and a dozen different carefully blended teas were on the menu. Not any old hot drinks in Mr Tea’s Teas either, but all carefully crafted with seemingly magical powers.
Teas here have properties such as “lucid dream enhancer, restful sleep, anti-depressant” and that’s just the Lucidi-Tea made up of mugwort, damiana, lemon balm and rose petals.
is needed now More than ever
These teas are all ethically sourced, with none from China thanks to their dubious human rights record. Tibetan flags for sale in this tiny cafe with only three tables give a further indication of the owners’ feelings on this issue.
You need precise directions to find Mr Tea’s Teas Cafe within All Saints Court. Even if you’ve lived in Bristol your whole life, you still may not have discovered a narrow thoroughfare off All Saints Lane linking St Nick’s Market to High Street, tucked away behind the now deconsecrated All Saints Church.
Mr Tea’s is based in what used to be the reception area of Breathe Bristol, which offers classes in yoga and meditation, alongside various alternative therapies.
The two businesses are a good fit. Step away from the hustle and bustle of Bristol city centre and let tea take you on a journey of discovery.
