New cafe and deli at Zion in Bedminster Down
The former owner of The Bristolian cafe on Picton Street is now working in a new cafe and deli within Zion, as the former chapel in Bedminster Down adds another string to its bow.
Kath Archer is now based in a corner room off the old chapel, which can either be accessed through the main hall or via a pathway around the side of the building.
Kath, who also used to work in legendary Whiteladies Road restaurant Rocinantes, serves a variety of traditional deli items from cheeses to ice creams.
is needed now More than ever
Fans of her bacon sandwiches at The Bristolian will be pleased to see them make a welcome return here, priced at a very reasonable £2.80.
All of the sandwiches are made fresh to order, with the standard ham and mustard joined by items from the deli including crayfish tails on bread from Winnie’s Bakery in Weston-super-Mare.
The small but well-stocked deli deserves to do well, with its only competing trade locally the Co-Op a few doors down the road with its shelves packed with chocolates and crisps.
Zion’s new deli and cafe is another sign that Bristol’s love of good food is spreading to all corners of the city.
