Popular bakery reopens in new location following fire

By Betty Woolerton  Monday Sep 18, 2023

A bakery that has been closed for three months after it went up in flames in June has reopened in a new location.

Pinkmans de Noche is the third iteration of the popular bakery business, with its original premises on Park Street still closed after serious fire damage.

It is located at Clifton Down Shopping Centre in a unit which previously housed bars Aperitivo and Noto and before that for many years Cafe Gusto.

The Pinkmans team said they are “stronger and more positive than ever as no crisis could stop us”.

The deli counter at Pinkmans de Noche has many of the usual treats familiar to lovers of their Park Street store

For brunch at the Whiteladies Road venue are options including eggs or bacon on sough dough, beans on toast and homemade pancakes – each served all day.

There are also cakes, pastries, focaccia sandwiches, frittata, filled brioche buns and salads, as well as Pinkmans’ much-loved individually hand-rolled ‘sourdoughnuts’.

Coffee is sourced from Yallah, a single origin coffee roasters in Cornwall.

A post on Instagram from @pinkmansbakery said: “What we are up to: building back up our independent business that suffered from a fire not long ago.

“We are now open at Clifton Down, Whiteladies Road. We are stronger and more positive than ever as no crisis could stop us.

“It’s not easy but with an amazing team at the heart of our business together with the love from our customers and Bristol community we are slowly recovering.

“Come and visit us at Clifton Down, Whiteladies Road and support our other cafe at 324 Gloucester Road. Soon we will be opening another cafe to offer much more Pinkmans love around Bristol. Stay tune!

“Thank you for being so so patient and so supportive.”

The new Pinkmans is open from Monday to Friday 8am-4pm and 9am-5pm during the weekend.

The latest Pinkmans can be found just a mile up the hill from its first bakery
