Second pub for Gloucester Old Spot team
The Beaufort Hunt in Downend is being taken over by the team behind The Gloucester Old Spot on Kellaway Avenue. It is due to reopen under its new name, The Duck and Willow, in early December.
Tearoom of the year
Cox & Baloney on Cheltenham Road won gold at the Bath, Bristol & Somerset Tourism Awards for café/tearoom of the year. The judges commented that Cox & Baloney is “a unique and mesmerising place”.
Steakhouse on the lookout for staff
Miller & Carter is due to open their first steakhouse restaurant in Bristol at Cribbs Causeway in mid-November and are now recruiting 50 staff for the kitchen and front of house.
