Bristol’s inaugural Wing Fest to showcase best chicken wings UK has to offer

By Martin Booth  Monday Aug 2, 2021

Vegetarians look away now. At Bristol’s inaugural Wing Fest, 70,000 chicken wings will be served by 20 different street food traders, restaurants and barbecue teams.

Taking place at the Lloyds Amphitheatre over the weekend of September 11 and 12, Wing Fest would appear to be taking on the mantle of the much-missed Grillstock.

The new festival promises to be “a celebration of the mighty chicken wing”, showcasing some of the best chicken wings the UK has to offer.

Previously hosted in London and Manchester, the festival’s first foray into Bristol will feature wings as well as music, beer, bourbon and even axe throwing.

The competition element is split into two categories: the best buffalo wing and the best wild wing.

Tickets include free access to fairground rides and live music, competitions, masterclasses, cooking demonstrations and games.
