‘10-year dream’ come true for owner of new Argentine bakery
The owner of a new South American-inspired bakery says being able to set up the new venue has been “a ten-year dream”.
Fabina Greco has been a pastry chef since 2016, working in bakeries, cafes and restaurants in Australia, Scotland and England.
She started making pastries from her childhood after missing her family in Argentina, going on to set up Lunita Pastelería with her partner Paul Woodcock after spotting a gap in the market.
is needed now More than ever
“We started small and we’re still very small,” Fabina told Bristol24/7.
“I saw that not there’s not really anybody doing that and I thought: ‘let’s try, let’s give it a go’.”

Fabina started out by supplying her bakes to an Argentine cafe in Bath before taking them to markets.
She said opening a permanent premises has been a dream ten years in the making. “It’s slowly, slowly happening and it feels very nice to see my vision come true,” said Fabina.
Fabina was born in Australia to South American parents, her father from Argentina and her mother from Paraguay, and said her upbringing had “a big influence” on her.
The path to opening the store was not easy, with Fabina working up to 60 hours a week in the run-up.
“It’s been a hard two months because this place wasn’t in the best shape,” Paul said. “Especially in the back rooms where there was water damage and we’ve had to build the toilet from scratch.”

Lunita is opening at 332 Gloucester Road
The new bakery has been fully refurbished and decorated with a blue, white, and gold theme, inspired by the Argentine flag and Fabina’s favourite colour, which is blue.
Lunita Pastelería specialises in Argentine pastries, cakes, facturas, and biscuits as well as savoury pastries and sandwiches and lunch and brunch options like empanadas. Everything will be made on site from scratch.
The business is teaming up with Triple Co Roast Coffee on Montpelier for coffee, the Estate Dairy for butter and Chew Valley Dairy for cheese.
Fabina said: “I’m going to try and keep all the ingredients that we buy quite local and just support, local makers and try and display their work.”
