A beer and bao bar is opening in Wapping Wharf
Outside space will be at a premium for the hospitality industry for the foreseeable future.
For one Wapping Wharf restaurant, their terrace has enabled a rethink – with alfresco dining their new focus.
A beer and bao menu designed to be enjoyed in the sunshine is going to be available from Saturday on the first floor of Cargo 2.
is needed now More than ever
The menu at Woky Ko Rooftop will include robata grilled chashu pork belly with Peking sauce and celeriac remoulade ; hash brown with gochujang, Woky kewpie mayo and sanbaizu pickled slaw; and Bulgogi beef ‘burnt ends’ with Woky XO chilli kewpie gem lettuce; as well as a rotating selection of beer and wines.
The location was previously home to Woky Ko Kaiju, specialising in ramen and Japanese robata grill dishes, but owner Larkin Cen has changed its focus due to the nature of dining as lockdown comes to an end.
“It’s clear that dining has changed since we closed our doors in March and we’re happy to provide a new offering that is more conducive to the ‘new normal’. Also I love beer and bao!” said Cen.
“Our menu will feature our famous Woky Ko baos, Asian steamed buns filled with high-quality ingredients in a compact form that pair perfectly with a cold beer in the sun.”
