Aardman join forces with St Werburgh’s brewery for new beer
Aardman co-founder and creative director Peter Lord swapped plasticine for hops when he helped make a new beer at a St Werburgh’s brewery.
Stop Frame best bitter is the latest release of Wiper & True‘s Brewed in Bristol series which has seen the brewery also collaborate with the likes of punk band Idles and coffee roasters Extract.
“Aardman are synonymous with Bristol. They are fiercely independent and their style is unmistakable, much like the city we both call home,” said Wiper & True founder Michael Wiper.

“Their hand-crafted approach, where the finger prints are still visible on each animated model, has parallels to our brewing style.”
Michael added: “It was a pleasure to work alongside Peter to develop the recipe for this beer. We have tried to bring a modern interpretation to the traditional Best Bitter style, animating it with bright citrus character and bold yeast flavours.”
Stop Frame will be launching at Nettle & Rye in Clifton Village on Friday, October 26, before becoming served from cask and in bottle across Bristol and nationwide.
