Alex Does Coffee to hit the road and focus on events
Seven years after Alex Campbell founded Alex Does Coffee and two years since she moved into the Paintworks, she is taking her cafe on the road.
Alex opened her first cafe at Two’s Company in Old Market and later was based at Dockyard Studios in Spike Island before moving into the two Airstream caravans at the Paintworks.
“At all locations I have met fantastic inspiring people & enjoyed all the madness that comes with running a coffee shop,” Alex wrote on Instagram.
is needed now More than ever
“Working for yourself is magic and I believe everyone should give it a go at some point.
“It will always be hard work and pretty much takes all your brain power and energy to keep everything rolling. But I wouldn’t change it for anything else.”

But in her heartfelt social media post, Alex said that “we all need to be aware of what is actually important – true happiness & health”.
She added: “For those who are not aware, I live with a lifelong condition called Ankylosing Spondylitis. It’s an autoimmune disease and SUCKS big time (shout outs to all you people living with chronic pain/conditions).
“I do have good days, so I’m grateful for that – but it is something that has to be constantly managed in various ways and if you get a bad flare up, it’s hard to put your shoes on – let alone work on full steam.
“Lockdown life surprisingly did me so much good with having time and space to get on a good level. I felt the benefits for the longest time I can remember.
“But then before Xmas I had a bad flare up again. This focused my thoughts and did a lot of thinking, soul searching about what to do going forward.
“So here is the actual exciting news – Alex is hitting the road.
“I will be moving out from the airstreams at Paintworks in May and coming to see you across Bristol and the South West.
“Plans are in place for a snazzy new vehicle and then I’ll be focusing on events. I cannot wait to get out and spread those good vibes
“This will enable control and balance. Allows me to diversify and simplify my business so life can be lived to the biggest and best.”
