Annual coffee festival to hold digital event this year
Despite a popular annual coffee festival not taking place as usual this year, its organisers are still hosting an online event.
The Coffee House Project promises to return “bigger and better” in 2021 and in the meantime aims to bring elements of the festival into people’s homes on the same weekend as the festival on September 5 and 6. (5th & 6th September)
The two-day coffee festival has always been “a caffeine-fuelled celebration of the best the city has to offer”, focusing on local, artisan roasters, independent food and drink retail, and home-grown baristas.

Festival organisers Sofia Simou and Louisa Parry said: “We need to let you know that it is with a heavy heart that we will be cancelling CHP 2020 and bringing it back bigger and better in 2021.
“It is not the decision we wanted, but with very little clarity from the government regarding indoor events and as we are a small team, for us, it just wouldn’t be the same festival that we love and you have all supported from day one.
“As we couldn’t possibly leave you hanging for that long, and because we still wanted an excuse to bring everyone together, support this amazing industry, have some fun and drink all of the coffee, we are very excited to announce that we will still be bringing CHP to your home on the 5th and 6th September as a digital festival!
“We are busy working on some awesome online workshops (plus amazing goodies too) for you to get involved with, where the BEST of the coffee industry will be on hand to give you some tips and tricks over the weekend.”
Tickets for the online Coffee House Project will go on sale in August along with a full schedule of events.
