Bedminster bar has epic response to online criticism

Dealing with online criticism is part of the job for anyone running a food and drink business in this day and age.

Even the best in Bristol are not immune. “This restaurant is a joke or there are some very delusional people running it,” wrote Kevin S about Casamia on TripAdvisor.

Taking their latest bit of online criticism on the chin, The Old Butcher’s on North Street have created a new cocktail in honour of this diatribe from Wayne S on TripAdvisor:

Heard about this new place and thought I’d pop in for a drink to check it out, so, its an old butchers shop and it feels like it still is, bright white tiled walls, the furniture was uncomfortable, wasn’t sure if it was supposed to be a bar or restaurant, to be honest it felt like neither, poncey 2/3 of a pint glasses of for beer, whats wrong with pints ffs?? The owner struts about in dungarees, and if he has the chance to check his reflection he damn well makes sure he does. Would I eat there? Never, only has crab on the menu anyway!? Would I drink there again? Never. Would I recommend it? Only to those who want to be soooo hip (like the owner thinks he is) that they want to watch the traffic go by in this rather grey and drab area of town.

“Wayne’s inspiring words moved us so much that we decided to honour him with a place on our menu,” The Old Butcher’s wrote on their Facebook page.

“We are therefore proud to introduce our new cocktail, for a limited time only at The Butcher’s, ‘The Ponce’s Dungarees’!”

And here it is, The Ponce’s Dungarees, made with white wine, rosé, vodka, Bols Blue liqueur and gomme syrup:
