Biblos and Bagel Boy open new restaurants

By Dulcie Horn  Monday Mar 9, 2015

Biblos and Bagel Boy have become near-neighbours with new openings on Gloucester Road just a few hundred yards from one another.

Biblos have moved into premises most recently occupied by Zazu’s Kitchen, now sandwiched between the two new arrivals in what used to be Delmonico’s, with Bagel Boy in what used to be Relax Coffee Lounge.

Biblos are well-known for their flat-bread wraps and fast-food fusion of Middle Eastern and Caribbean cuisine.

The new Gloucester Road restaurant, Biblos on the Hill, is their third location, alongside the original shop on Stokes Croft and a cafe on Mina Road in St Werburgh’s.

Biblos on the Hill can be found at 225 Gloucester Road and features a sun terrace and a bar. In addition to freshly made falafels, flatbreads and wraps, visitors will also be able to choose from a new selection of fine wines, rums and speciality beers.

Fellow Bristol institution Bagel Boy have come a long way since their origins as a pop-up in the Elbow Rooms on Park street and Stokes Croft’s Shambarber.

They opened their first permanent home on St Nicholas Street in late 2013 and number 213 Gloucester Road will play host to their second store. On offer are be their distinctive freshly baked bagels with a varied range of fillings.
