In an Instagram post, staff from the brewery, which opened in 2020, wrote: “In September 2022, we borrowed a very special barrel from Circumstance Distillery.
“Their single grain whisky was the first to be produced in Bristol for over 80 years, a mix of raw and malted barley, fermented on French Saison yeast and aged on first filled ex bourbon cask for 37 months.
“We then filled the barrel with our Baltic Porter to let the flavours of caramel and coffee with hints of blackcurrant & dark fruits blend with the warmth of the whisky character to create a rich, complex beer, with a malty sweetness and a clean finish.
“Limited numbers of this are available, so you’re gunna have to be quick!”
In December 2022 the business decided to halt productions due to “huge price increases” in the industry, which had led to financial difficulties.
Despite its effort to stay open as long as possible, this will be the last beer release for the brewery due to rising production costs across the industry.
