Bristol bakery closes Bedminster branch
There is now one fewer place on North Street for a latte with the closure of a bakery and cafe that only opened in 2017.
A notice on the door of Hobbs House Bakery announces that its doors are closed, with owners saying that the decision was taken “with a heavy heart”.
Their shop on Gloucester Road remains open, with their bread also continuing to be stocked by wholesale customers including Better Food, Spoke & Stringer and the Watershed.

The Hobbs House statement reads: “We have loved our time there, especially being part of this great independent high street.
“We had a good team with each member bringing something new and it has been a pleasure to share Hobbs House Bakery’s handmade bread, cakes and coffee with customers every day.
“Over the two years we have been proud to serve our local area but the financial pressures being felt by many high street retailers have sadly meant that we cannot continue in this location.
“We encourage you to continue to use your high street, buy your bread locally, enjoy the fantastic coffee available and support your communities.”
