Bristol brewery to release special beer for International Women’s Day

By Bristol24/7  Thursday Feb 8, 2018

Made with herbs and heather as a tribute to their “alewife” predecessors – the original female makers and sellers of beer, who used botanicals to flavour and preserve beer – a new beer from Wiper & True has been developed by an all-women team.

Named XX to represent the female chromosomes, the gooseberry wheat beer featuring the botanicals meadowsweet and heather is a limited edition brew which will be released on International Women’s Day on March 8.

From recipe development, brewing and packaging, to sales and promotion, only women at Wiper & True in St Werburgh’s have been involved in the creation of XX; their intention being to promote and celebrate the contribution of women to the the world of beer.
