Bristol’s best pubs of 2020
We may not be able to currently frequent our favourite local watering holes, but there is now even more incentive to visit as two pubs have been named the best in Bristol.
The annual accolade from Camra’s Bristol & District branch has been given to a micropub in Fishponds and a pub in Redland located on one of Bristol’s best roads for food and drink.
Both may be closed but are still serving beer for customers to drink at home before they are allowed to reopen.
is needed now More than ever
“Congratulations to them both on their success in what has unfortunately turned out to be exceptionally difficult days for the pub trade,” said a statement from Camra Bristol & District.
“Please drop by and give them your support when possible!”

Camra Bristol & District’s pub of the year 2020 is Snuffy Jack’s Ale House on Fishponds Road in Fishponds.
Snuffy Jack’s owner Leanne Jones said that she “was absolutely floored” by the news that the micropub founded in 2017 had been voted as Bristol’s best pub.
She said: “One of the reasons why Snuffy’s is so unique is that no day is ever the same. In addition to the constantly changing beer menu I work really hard to create a welcoming & inclusive atmosphere.
“You can expect a friendly hello and you’ll probably receive a hug on the way out!”

The Good Measure on Chandos Road in Redland was named by Camra as their runner-up in Bristol’s pub of the year 2020.
The pub is the only one in the city owned by St Philip’s brewery Good Chemistry, who are currently selling bag-in-box beer once a week from their brewery as well as the pub.
Good Chemistry co-founder Kelly Sidgwick said: “We specifically asked Bristol24/7 to announce the opening of The Good Measure, in November 2018, as we always wanted it to be a local pub, a community pub, and a pub that Bristol could enjoy and be proud of.
“We’re incredibly proud to have received this recognition after so short a time.”
