Bristol’s oldest Irish pub appeals to locals to help it survive
It’s the oldest Irish pub in Bristol and was recently voted as having the best pint of Guinness in the city.
But like many other pubs across the UK, Seamus O’Donnell’s is under very real threat of closure due to its lack of income during the coronavirus pandemic.
Landlord Paul Bayford has now set up a crowdfunder to help him pay the rent on the St Nicholas Street pub.

He said: “We were hoping you wonderful people might be able to help us so that we’re still here when you can come back.
“We’re a small, independent, pub and I (Paul) and Chris have been here for 11 years, bringing entertainment and laughs (hopefully) with live music and entertainment and, as voted by you, serving the best Guinness in town.

“We hoped to be here for at least another 11 years, but with the current situation we don’t know if that will be possible without your help
“If you can afford to help us we would greatly appreciate it and we hope to see you again, from a socially responsible distance, until we can bring back the Craic and give you a big ol’ hug!”
