Buy a coffee and help support a child
Carys Kettlety leans out of the window of Glow Cafe on the corner of Stokes Croft and City Road to serve coffee to another customer.
You can get the usual array of hot drinks here to take away, with all profits going to a charity which shares the space with Carys.

Carys, who previously worked at Milk Teeth in nearby Portland Square in St Paul’s and Pinkmans on Park Street, said that customers really appreciate what buying a coffee here can support.
Coffee beans are roasted by Triple Co. only a few hundred yards away, and bread and pastries come from The Bristol Loaf in Redfield.
Carys is planning to bake both meaty and vegan-friendly sausage rolls soon, with Tuesday morning the first day the cafe served soup – which today was dal.
Leading Lights’ Glow hub and cafe is on the corner of Stokes Croft and City Road
Inside the Glow hub, Kathryn Strachecky and Ali Karavias from Leading Lights are preparing to welcome the first children of the day into the new space.
Previously only able to offer one-to-one support, children are now able to meet in group sessions.
Each child is responsible for a specific pot plant in the room, and on the wall are paintings that have been painted collaboratively, in silence.
“Having the coffee shop at the back is a great way of getting ourselves known as an organisation,” explains Ali,
“And of course it’s also great that it brings in more money to help support the work that we do.”
Kathryn adds: “You could buy a coffee from a huge global chain to swell their profits, or spend money here to save a child’s life.”
