Casamia team push on for second Michelin star
Both lunch and dinner at Casamia now cost £98 as the Bristol restaurant aims to achieve their second Michelin star.
“In short, I want to create the best overall experience for you and in order to do so I need to work with the best chefs, independent suppliers and exciting ingredients, whilst having the time to perfect every aspect,” owner Peter Sanchez Iglesias told diners in an email.
“I don’t want to bang on about the challenges independent restaurants face in the hospitality industry (although I’m very happy to chat to anyone who’d like to) but want you to know that despite us holding off from altering our prices over the past few years it has now become necessary.
is needed now More than ever
“I am confident that the price reflects what we will be offering and I can’t put into words how excited I am for you to join us in Autumn.”
Other changes at Casamia’s new home at the General include no longer being open for weekday lunches and only hosting one sitting from 6.30pm to 8.30pm.
“I am pushing the team harder than I ever have before with the Autumn menu,” said Sanchez-Iglesias, who also opened pizza restaurant Pi Shop next to Casamia last month and is hoping to open Paco’s – a tapas and sherry bar also at the General – by the end of the summer.
“With this in mind, we need extra preparation time to ensure every element of every dish has the dedication it deserves and so ultimately we are able to give every guest the best menu we can. So, to be clear, we will be open for lunch on Saturday only, and dinner Wednesday to Saturday.”
Sanchez-Iglesias added: “With every step I take in my development process I always revert back to our name Casamia – my house – to keep this in the forefront of my mind.
“I want to create the best experience for all our guests, when they step into my house, and will continue to strive to do this.”
